BIGGEST FAN...

Easton LOVES the Army. While waiting to get our rental car in TX, Easton spotted these "Army Heroes" {as he calls them} and wouldn't leave them alone. He walked up to them saying "hi"and asked if he could get his picture with them. They were so sweet and generous to Easton. With all the fake heroes exposed to him through other kids and school, Ian has been explaining to Easton how Superman, Batman, Xmen and others, are all fake super heroes but we have real life super heroes all around us...police officers, fire fighters and of course Army heroes. Being in Kindergarten Easton has learned "God Bless America" and "My Country 'Tis of Thee" and we have spent a lot of time teaching him what the words in the songs mean and how other people don't have the same freedoms he has and we have a lot of heroes who fight and die to make sure we have those freedoms. As he was saying goodbye to the Army Heroes the guy on in the far right in the picture took his arm badge off and gave it to Easton...it was one of the nicest, most generous things ever and brought tears to my eyes. Easton was amazed and took the patch everywhere telling everyone the story of the Army Hero who gave it to him.
Thank you to real life heroes who make this country the BEST place to live and raise my family!

Sweet Treat...

Ian had some work to do in Texas this last week so we all decided to tag along. We had such a fun time staying at Waylon's hotel{the W}, seeing and hanging out with Auntie Kristan, seeing a few friends along the way and best of all...going to the Texas State Fair!! London and the boys LOVED the petting farm at the fair, they all loved feeding the animals and seeing all the babies. The boys loved winning stuffed animals at the game stations and riding a few of the rides. The long weekend was a sweet treat for all of us!

BIG GIRL...

Unlike her BIG brothers...London wasn't able to have her car seat forward facing until now...she weighs around 22lbs now days and was getting a little squished each time I had to put her in her car seat rear facing. She never really minded facing backwards because Easton kept her entertained from the back seat, but now she LOVES facing forward and looking at everything in front of her.

Can't Get Enough...

One day after nap{hence Waylon wearing a diaper{he still wears them at nap/bed time}} Waylon got a lollipop and after several attempts made by London to try and figure out what exactly Waylon had, I asked him to share with her. BIG MISTAKE...sister didn't want to share, she WANTED that lollipop all to herself. She loved it and wouldn't let it or Waylon out of her sight.

FIRST day...

Easton had his FIRST day of school today and he did GREAT!! He was a little nervous before going, he was really unsure where to go/what to do when he got off the bus. The bus picks him and all the other elementary kids up at the end of our street and then drops him off in front of the house since it's only a half day program and only kindergartners are being brought home at 11:45. When the bus drops him off they go turn around in the cul-de-sac then drop him off. Well, Waylon was aware of this and got VERY upset when Easton's bus flew by without stopping to drop Easton off. He started crying and saying "I wanted to play with Easton...Come back Easton."
I did well and didn't cry until I got back home after the bus picked him up....then I was flooded with mixed emotions. Of course I was SO proud of the big kid he has become and know he will do awesome at school. But I also know it is just the beginning, each year he will go off into this BIG world filled with nice and not so nice kids. He is the baby that made me a Momma...and now he is no longer that baby{but in my heart he is}.
