WDW Day 1...2009

We left for Texas...or so the boys thought...at 4:30 in the morning.  The flight down went really well.  It wasn't until we got off the plane and went to catch our magical express bus that Easton realized we were nor in TX but instead in DisneyWorld!  He started jumping up and down and yelling "WE'RE IN DISNEYWORLD!!"  He was so surprised and so excited!!

After arriving at Disney, we ran into some friends from Connecticut that we're hanging out on the Boardwalk.  We hung out with them for a while and made plans to meet up at MK{Magic Kingdom} the next morning.  We grabbed some lunch then got into our room just in time for naps.  After naps we walked to Epcot for dinner in Italy.  After dinner we hung out on the Boardwalk and watched the magician's before heading to bed.

DisneyWorld 2009

We headed to DisneyWorld for a week with Mickey and his pals!  It was a surprise trip for the boys and they were so excited when we got to Flordia!!  We had an exciting time which involved Easton's first time on Tower of Terror, riding the new Buzz Lightyear ride 3,000 times (Waylon's favorite), London pooping all over Mommy while on the Buzz Lightyear ride, the boys getting hit by a Segway while in the stroller, Easton discovering his first loose tooth, and MANY  more crazy memories!!

PICTURES COMING SOON...

Momma Monday

I've decided to dedicate Mondays on the blog to being Momma Mondays.  Which means, I will discuss anything that relates to ME!  Since this blog was created for the boys kids I have tried to stick to blogging about them...which this will continue for every day except Mondays.

First topic for Momma Monday is one that I have been struggling with since we've bought the new house, ok really since forever.  WORRYING!  I am such a worry wart and when things in my life seem to be going a little too perfect I start wondering worrying about what will happen to mess it up.  I keep waiting, worrying, stressing about when and what will happen to shake my content, happy, perfect life.  I have been this way since a child, a worrier that is.  I worry about my family, my friends, my pets, silly things that I have no control over.  So you see it becomes this vicious cycle of worrying.

Hi, my name is Momma (Jamie) and I am a worrier!
Awwww, now that feels better....

Potty Training 101:

I have been meaning to post these pictures of Waylon.  I know it looks like I am potty training but with the move and all, I had to put a halt to the training.  Hopefully once we get back from Disney we will start again and have more success!!

Packing

I am planning on packing these 3 monkey's and taking them to the new house.
We've been SUPER busy packing for the movers who will show up on Friday.  We will officially be into the new house by Saturday, however, I will be without Internet until at least Monday if not longer.  Next time I post it will be from our new home!
Much Love!!!!

Happy Birthday Mom

Gram Pam & Easton
I am rarely involved in posting on the family blog - leaving the hard work to Jamie because she is our family's blogging expert. But I thought it was worth a shot today, so here we go. Today is my mother's birthday. It has been almost four years since Pam Hackett passed away and not a day goes by that I dont think about her. Reading her obituary today was surreal - such a great life, but impossible to capture in three paragraphs for the local Sunday paper. It doesnt even come close to doing her justice. But then again, neither could I. Not if I typed for days. Weeks.

I will never forget the things she did for me and my family. Working multiple jobs to help pay the bills, helping with last minute art projects so I didn't fail second grade, embracing my wife as her own daughter and taking my call every day on my way home from work. Those of you who know me probably are laughing at that, since I don't ever answer my phone, but its true. Until the day she died, my mom and I would talk every day - sharing stories about our day, her imparting advice on how to be a better husband or father, but, most importantly, just laughing. We laughed a lot. It is funny though. Even though I will never forget these things, my mind wont let me remember others. I think it is my mind trying to protect itself. I dont remember her voice and it is hard for me to hold an image of her face in my mind for more than a few seconds. The pain is too intense. But I am the lucky one. My wife knew and loves my mom. My brother Alex's wife, whomever that poor girl ends up being, will never have that relationship. I have pictures of my first son with my mother. Neither of my brothers will be able to look back on those memories of their own children. For that I am truly grateful.

I love you mom. I miss you terribly. I try every day to make you proud. Can't wait to see you again and share some laughs.
