Headed Home...fell asleep with his new friend.

Waylon's surgery went REALLY well today.  Everyone at the hospital was so nice and helpful.  We arrived at the hospital at 7:20am and got home around 12:30pm.  He was in a lot of pain tonight, but we are hoping by Saturday he will only be on tylenol and not the pain prescription he was given.  All the Dr.'s{about 6} commented on what a GREAT 2 year old he was...probably the BEST they've seen...he was so brave!  Daddy was able to walk with him back to the Operating Room and stay with him until he feel asleep.  It was really hard for us when we were able to go be with him in recovery...he was VERY disorientated and was trying to rip his iv out.  Once we were able to see him and talk to him he calmed down.  You will see in the post-op pictures that his hand is wrapped in a wash cloth and taped up...so that his iv wouldn't come out.

Thank you all for your prayers today they were definitely felt.  Although the whole experience was a good one, it is one we hope we never have to repeat.

Sweet Waylon..

Waylon's surgery is tomorrow and I just wanted to post some pictures of this sweet boy from tonight.  He likes to carry his gun in his undies like a holster...so cute!!  

I am nervous about his surgery tomorrow and just ready for it to be DONE.  I am sure I will not sleep to well tonight, but know that everything will be just fine tomorrow.  

Waylon knows he is going to the hospital tomorrow and Dr. Weiss is going to give him medicine, he'll go to sleep, Dr. Weiss will fix his willy and then he'll wake up a be all better.  I will keep my Face Book status pretty up to date so check that if you want to know how it's going.  Say a little prayer for us, but mainly Waylon!!

Easter Preview...

Oh and this princess is 9 months!!  Yep, only 3 months until she'll be ONE!!! 

She has been doing really well, however after seeing the GI we decided to switch her formula once again...she had went down in her percentiles {from 25%-20%}.  We also meet with a nutritionist to discuss ways to sneak fat into her diet.  Since switching her formula she has been a much happier little girl...and has started eating more solids including pureed turkey, cheerios and puffs. The pictures are from this weekend when we went to a friends house for an Easter Egg Hunt.  I bought her a super fancy Easter dress, but think I will save it for a 1 year birthday and she can wear this super cute outfit again.

Also, Waylon's surgery is scheduled for Wednesday around 7:20am.  We have to be at CCMC at 7:20 for pre-op{1 hr} then he will be wheeled off to the operating room and should be in surgery for about 1 hr 10 mins and then we will be in post-op{1 hr}.  Just say a little prayer for our sweet Way if you think about it on Wednesday morning.

Momma Monday...

We try and eat out at least once a week with the kids, Ian and I have never wanted having kids stop us from enjoying the things we enjoy doing...going out to dinner is one of those things.  And usually our kids are well behaved...not ALWAYS, but usually.  But there are often times when we are out to dinner that I notice families with older kids, and I envy how relaxed the parents look. And in my mind I always think...oh I can't wait until that is us.  But the other day while we were out to dinner I noticed a family with older kids...maybe high school, even college age and wondered do those parents envy us.  Do they look at our family and think, man I wish our kids were small again.  Do they miss how quickly time has passed and how quickly they've grown up...in the blink of an eye.  A wonderful friend once told me the days are LONG but the years are SHORT...and how true that seems now.  I just don't want to blink.  I recently heard another saying that hit home , small kids...small problems, big kids...big problems. That too seems so very true. 

On another note, Waylon is having surgery on Wednesday to fix a hernia.  Because of the type of hernia it is (inguinal hernia) it has to be operated on to fix the problem and to keep it from becoming a more serious issue.  You can find more information about it here.

We will be at Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC) for about 3 hours for surgery and post-op.  I am waiting on a call from the surgical coordinator to find out the exact time.  But please keep him in your prayers.  I am somewhat nervous...none of our children have ever had surgery, but I know the Lord will be protecting and watching over sweet Waylon.  

GREAT Granny...

Daddy's Grandma came from Michigan with Pappy for a visit this weekend.  It was Great Granny's first time to meet London.  Everyone had a GREAT time with her while she was here...we miss her already!!

Pappy is staying a little while longer...and everyone is enjoying having him around!!
